Shakespeare Property Group is proud to announce that the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort (NCOR) has been recognised on the national stage, securing the Gold Award at the Australian Tourism Awards in the 4–4.5 Star Deluxe Accommodation category.

This marks the first time the resort has received Gold at the national level, an outstanding achievement that reflects the resort’s continued commitment to excellence in guest experience, service and operational performance.

The recognition follows back-to-back Gold Awards at the Queensland Tourism Awards in 2024 and 2025, which qualified the resort to represent Queensland at the Australian Tourism Awards in both years. At the 2024 national awards, NCOR was recognised with Bronze, before achieving Gold at the most recent Australian Tourism Awards.

The consecutive Queensland Tourism Award wins also place the resort on the path toward potential Hall of Fame eligibility at the state level, a milestone awarded to businesses that secure Gold in the same category for three consecutive years.

Located in the heart of Tropical North Queensland, Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort continues to stand out as one of the region’s leading accommodation destinations. The award recognises the dedication and passion of the resort’s team, as well as the strength of the partnership between Shakespeare Property Group and Accor, the hotel’s global operator.

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of many people, including:

  • Our SPG investors, whose ongoing support and confidence continue to underpin the success of the portfolio
  • Accor, our operating partner, whose expertise and operational leadership ensure the resort maintains exceptional standards
  • Our hotel and portfolio teams, whose professionalism and commitment drive strong results year after year

We also acknowledge Michael Daviss, Portfolio Manager – SPG Accor Hotels, who accepted the award on behalf of Shelly Cuthbertson, General Manager, and the entire Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort team.

This national recognition is a testament to the quality of the property, the strength of its management and the dedication of everyone involved. It also builds on the strong momentum created by the resort’s recent success at the Queensland Tourism Awards and reinforces its position as a leading destination in Australian tourism.
