Prime Value Private Equity Fund

Private equity investment strategies are transformational, value-add and require active management. To implement them successfully, the right management teams are crucial and we are joining with ROC Partners to provide this opportunity to our investors.

The Fund will invest in high quality private equity deals across the co-investment, primary, secondary and direct segments of the private equity market. The Fund will target investment in companies that have been mismanaged or orphaned and where there are strong turnaround opportunities, and it will target small to mid sized established businesses with histories of profitability that need expansion capital and expertise to take them to the next level.

To provide investors with an opportunity to invest in a diversified portfolio of quality private equity investments managed by a high calibre team with a successful track record.

About Roc Partners

Roc Partners was established in June 2014, as an independent, alternative investment management firm following the management buy-out of Macquarie Group’s private markets business by its senior executives. The Roc Partners business has been in continuous operation since 1996 with over 32 staff located across Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai. They have one of the largest and most experienced alternative investment teams in the Asia Pacific region. They have over $6.4 billion of assets under management and have completed over 150 secondary and co-investment transactions. Roc operates with a strong focus on risk management and governance. Testament to their approach to risk management is their long-standing institutional client base, which includes Government, Corporate and Industry Superannuation Funds as well as Endowments.

James Everist

James has worked with Prime Value since August 2016 co-developing our expansion into Agriculture, Infrastructure and Structured Products. James is a director of his own consulting company advising on forensic accounting, funds management, alternative investments and portfolio management for family offices. James has 30 years’ experience in resources and financial markets across corporate treasury, investment banking, and private wealth management. James is based in Bendigo and has previously held Treasury positions with Normandy Mining and WMC Ltd and also held senior investment banking roles with Standard Chartered Bank (Mocatta) and Morgan Stanley (Singapore) specialising in metals sales and trading.

Investment Objective

To provide a strong diversification opportunity and deliver superior returns from an asset class less correlated to traditional markets.

Target Returns

We aim to deliver returns of 18%+ p.a. through a combination of yield and capital gain, with an emphasis on capital gains from asset sales. Distributions will depend on assets acquired.

Investment

A diversified, longer term strategy including primary, secondary, co-investment and direct investments. The major geographic focus is Australia and New Zealand while also exploring opportunities within the Asia Pacific region. The Fund will target profitable small buyout and growth expansion opportunities where there is reduced risk.
