Prime Value Emerging Opportunities Fund ranked No 2 in Australia for 2020

Prime Value’s investment philosophy of minimising mistakes has been rewarded with another strong year of investment returns. The Emerging Opportunities Fund was ranked number 2 in Australia by Morningstar for 2020, one of the more challenging years for investment markets in recent times.

The fund’s return of +23.4% for the year is particularly impressive considering its lower risk approach to stock picking. Richard Ivers and the team favour a conservative approach and avoided many of the “hot” but higher risk segments such as mining and buy now pay later.

This follows a strong 2019 when the fund returned +31.8%. Longer term returns have also been strong at +15% per annum since inception in 2015, highlighting resilience through volatile markets in recent years.
